I have worked with Ed Plato for several years and, not being from the great state of Michigan, have leaned on Ed and his firm for advice and guidance in that venue. The experience and knowledge he provides gives me a sense of peace and confidence that a true professional is standing shoulder to shoulder with me and protecting my insured. I’ve attended legal proceedings with Ed and admire his skills, professionalism and the respect he has earned with fellow colleagues.

I’ve had the pleasure of having Ed Plato represent various commercial insureds for over 15 years and can recommend the Plato Law Firm without reservation. Ed Plato has handled a wide range of claims involving construction defects, employment practice liability (EPL), fatal auto and industrial accidents, law enforcement liability, manufacturing plant explosions, and municipal law claims. Ed has always been extremely thorough in his communications and his recommendations are always on the mark, without fail. Most of all, he is one of the most genuine people you will ever hope to meet.

On behalf of Dan's Excavating, Inc., I have been working with Ed Plato for over a decade. I can never remember a time where our best interests were not served. We have settled cases when we needed to and fought them when we wanted to ... always with a positive outcome. Good advice and no surprises is what you want from a business partner, and that is exactly what Ed has delivered to us time and again.
– Paul Navetta, Vice President, Dan's Excavating
During my tenure in the Inkster Police Department, serving under several administrations, I had the opportunity to work with various attorneys retained to defend our interests. In my last 12 years as Chief of Police, I was privileged to work with an exceptional attorney, Ed Plato. I witnessed Mr. Plato’s remarkable ability in his defense work in over 100 lawsuits filed against the city and its police officers. Ed Plato has an extremely successful track record and personally saved the city millions of dollars due to his excellent work. Ed Plato was always completely accessible. Law enforcement requires the ability to have an attorney that can be available at a moment’s notice, even in the middle of the night, and Ed Plato always made himself available.
– Terry Colwell, Retired Chief of Police, City of Inkster

I want to acknowledge attorney Ed Plato for his professionalism while handling my litigation. Lawsuits can be very uncomfortable and stressful while you are going through the process. Ed Plato made me feel very comfortable and kept me informed about the case every step of the way. I would be proud to refer my family, friends and even strangers to him, and I am sure they will be happy with his legal expertise.
– James Buford, Director of Homeland Security, Wayne County

I would want to have Ed represent me professionally and/or personally in any legal matters.

Just a quick note to let you know how pleased we were with the services we received from your law firm. The Plato Law Firm provided us with an amazing, valuable resource and experience.
I have worked with numerous law firms in my 33 year career but the experience with your firm was professional and personal. Frankly speaking, you and your staff were available, down to earth, and cut through a lot of the B.S. lines.
I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with your firm.
– Leonard Dixon, Director/Past President, National Juvenile Detention Association
Ed, I am extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and expertise you have brought to Salem Township as our Township Attorney. It can be difficult at times representing seven people who can have different ideas and different ways of expressing themselves. You have always handled yourself with diplomacy and tact while, at the same time, protecting the interests of the Township. I would wholeheartedly recommend you and your law firm to any municipality, business or individual in need of your legal advice. Thank you for the effort you put forth on the Township's behalf.
– Robert Heyl, Former Salem Township Supervisor
I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent service provided to me by the Plato Law Firm. During the legal proceedings, Mr. Plato listened and absorbed details of my case and my opinion and then made convincing recommendations and decisions. In court, Mr. Plato was a tremendous help for me while addressing the intricacies of my case which resulted in expeditious and consensual resolution.
Ed is one of the shining examples of professional, caring and knowledgeable attorneys. He listened, advocated and kept me informed throughout the proceedings of my case. I am very pleased with the quality, responsiveness and extensive legal expertise of Ed Plato.
On a personal note, I really enjoyed working with Ed. I could not be more satisfied.
– Hassan Saab, Wayne County Director of Public Services and President of the County Road Association of Michigan
I have been associated with Ed Plato for well over 30 years. My acquaintance with this extremely learned and talented lawyer extends back to our days in high school where we performed together in a successful Jazz Band. Ed was a terrific drummer, a young man the other musicians referred to as "the doctor", because of his highly-sophisticated, technical approach to providing the rhythm and holding the band together.
Ed displays these skills as a lawyer. I have worked with him in municipal law cases since the early 1980's and find his approach, his logical analysis, his artful crafting of argument and position and, most importantly, his unflappable demeanor, an incredible asset. I have utilized him as co-counsel, outside counsel and lead counsel in dozens of cases, all with successful results. The governmental entities (politicians and ego-purveyors notwithstanding) revere and respect the professionalism and skill of Ed Plato. I expect to be using his services for years to come.
– Ed Zelenak, City Attorney for Cities of Lincoln Park and Southgate
Ed was responsive and quick to take appropriate action. He provided us with wise counsel and good guidance.
– Bridgette Roman, General Counsel/Senior Vice President of CheckSmart Financial

The day we met with Ed Plato we felt confident that our case (involving the death of a six year old student) was going to be handled professionally, competently, and with compassion. We couldn't have asked for a better attorney. He is an excellent attorney, but an even better human being. He gave us a total understanding of the case and an overview of the subsequent legal procedures.
– Katy Esterline, Former Principal, Prairie Elementary School, Adrian Public Schools
As a cop with over 27yrs. of experience I've known hundreds of attorneys in all capacities. Like any profession, there are good and bad ones that have come and gone. One of the best I've ever known is Ed Plato. Ed has always been firm but fair no matter what side of table he was sitting on and has used his great communication skills to cut through to the core of any issue.
I first met Ed when he was a litigation attorney for the City of Inkster. I watched Ed repeatedly use his knowledge and grasp of the law to steer the city through very difficult times, all the while maintaining his integrity and professionalism. Ed Plato saved the City of Inkster millions of dollars during his tenure there. When Ed decided to leave his position with Inkster, the City lost not only a great attorney, but a caring friend as well.
Even long after he left Inkster, Ed always made himself available to answer questions and give advice to those who needed it. This was often on his own time and without payment. Ed Plato cares about the people he represents and his clients often become his friends.
I would not hesitate to recommend Ed to friends and family or whoever needed a hard working, dedicated, and honest attorney.
– Detective Lieutenant Kevin Patrick Smith
I appreciate everything you have done for me and my family. As I am sure that you were aware, the last thing that I wanted to do was to sue my employer.
I initially was concerned that my employer was putting up a strong defense. That concern was quickly dismissed by the way you quickly resolved issues and successfully handled the oral arguments. You were clearly the professional.
I also appreciate the way that you handled the media. You told us what to expect and you were able to effectively tell our story.
Finally, I would like to thank you for the attention you gave our case. You were our coach and responded to our many questions at a drop of the hat. I am aware that you are a busy man, but you made us feel like we were your most important case.
It was truly a pleasure working with you and the team. Thank you for everything.
– Keith Lee, Retired Wayne County Equipment Division Manager
